REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE

56 years ago today, Rebel Without a Cause, was release by Warner Brothers.  It was screen and style icon James Dean’s most famous role as Jim Stark, 17 year old high school student, that made the film.

Deemed ‘culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant’, Rebel was added and preserved in the Library of Congress National Film Registry in 1990.  James was never able to enjoy the success and fame this film was to bring him, as he died September 30, 1995, less than a month before its release.
