I ran across the Nike Air Lava Dunk Hi the other day at Steven Alan and instantly wanted a pair. I currently own only three (3) pair of what could be considered sneakers, (Vans, Adidas Trail, Jack Purcell) so I am far from what you would call a sneaker head, but these ACG’s are something that I need.
With these, Nike has taken the sole of the classic ACG Lava Dome, also found at Steven Alan, and the upper from Nike’s most understandable basketball shoe, the Dunk Hi. A rugged suede upper, paired with breathable mesh, heavy duty D-rings and thick boot laces make these rival any true hiking boot. Those details and the magic of Nike’s use of athletic coloring, is a perfect balance of ‘trail’ and ‘court’.
Steven Alan has them in two (2) color-ways, the light brown/blue and grey/green. Due to their limited edition quantities, orders must be called into the shop. If Nike keeps turing out styles like these, I may have to rethink my shoe collection and start to replace all those Aldens.
