A G.I.’S CHRISTMAS

While fighting in the European Theater in WWII, my grandfather did not forget his family back home. He tried to corresponded weekly via letters if his scheduled allowed, but he made a point never to miss Christmas.

The US Army provided free Christmas cards to the G.I.‘s to send back home to their family and friends. These cards allowed the citizens back home a small gift from their men on the front lines. The two below are actual cards Sergeant William Sassaman sent back while he was stationed in France.

This Holiday Season, please remember the men and women who are fighting or have fought to make this great nation what it is today.

Happy Holidays from Noble County Gold!
